Alberta’s Nuclear Energy Engagement and Advisory Panel is launching a series of public information sessions to explore the role of nuclear power in the province’s energy future.
These sessions aim to inform and gather input from residents, municipalities, and industry stakeholders.
Parliamentary Secretary Chantelle de Jonge emphasized the importance of meeting Alberta’s growing electricity demands and expressed enthusiasm for engaging directly with Albertans on this topic.
The upcoming webinars are scheduled for December 8 from 10:30 a.m. to noon, December 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., and January 16, 2026, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, focusing on nuclear safety and waste management.
Interested participants can register at alberta.ca/nuclear-energy-engagement#webinars.
Feedback from these sessions will contribute to a final report, due by March 31, 2026, which will guide the development of Alberta’s nuclear energy roadmap.
Additional engagement activities, including sessions for Indigenous communities and in-person meetings, will be announced in the new year.
