Police in Fort Vermilion have layed charges against two people from John D’or Prairie after a firearms complaint.

Officers received a report of shots fired at a residence on Tuesday morning, coming from the same address where police had responded to an assault call just a few hours earlier.

That assault turned out to be gang-related where one person had to be transported by medi-vac.

RCMP set up containment and obtained a search warrant for the residence as the owner was non-cooperative.

Contact was made with a potential suspect and known gang member, who refused to exit.

Police were able to secure the residence arrest the two suspects and also seize a sawed-off 12-gauge double barrel shotgun

As a result of the investigation, Marty Devon D’Or (30), and Delaney Heart St. Arnault (32), both residents of John D’Or Prairie, were arrested;

D’Or was charged with:
– Assault with a weapon;
– Aggravated assault;
– Uttering threats;
– Participate in activity for a criminal organisation;
– Using firearm in the commission of an offence;
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
– Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; and
– Careless use of a firearm.
St. Arnault was charged with obstruct police (x2) and accessory after the fact.

D’Or and St. Arnault were brought before a justice of the peace. D’Or was remanded into custody while Delaney was release. They are to appear before the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort Vermillion, with D’Or to appear on Feb. 10, and St. Arnault to appear on Feb. 24.
