- Peace Regional police are asking for the public’s help in a case of theft in Peace River.
On Saturday, a suspect entered a business downtown, selected a few items, then walked out without paying. - Reactions have been coming in to Premier Danielle Smith’s announcement of a referendum on several questions happening this fall.
Some critics, including NDP Deputy Leader Rakhi Pancholi, are calling the referendum a “distraction” from other issues facing Albertans. (Interview in separate story) - This week is the last week to register for the Alberta Pond Hockey Championships next month at the Mile Zero Multiplex in Grimshaw. - Anti-bullying campaigns are being recognized across Canada today. Pink Shirt Day is being observed to raise awareness of bullying and cyberbullying.
- NPHL playoffs have the night off tonight, after Spirit River and Manning took the opening games of the semi-finals last night.
Game 2 is tomorrow, Game 3 is Saturday. - NHL returns tonight with four Canadian teams in action, as part of an 8-game schedule.
