
The town of McLennan is advising residents to not feed moose, that have wandered into town.
Feeding wildlife can lead to aggressive behavior, attract animals to residential areas and roads, may result in injuries to people or pets. Additionally, it can lead the being euthanized for public safety.
Reasons to avoid feeding moose:
1. Aggressive: Moose accustomed human-provided food may approach people expecting handouts. food isn’t provided, they can become aggressive and dangerous.
2.Loss of Natural Fear: Feeding moose teaches to associate humans with food, causing them to linger in neighborhoods and, increasing the of human-wildlife.
3. Risk of Injury: Moose are large animals capable of kicking,, or stomping if they feel, posing a danger to people and pets.
4. Disruption of Natural: Providing food prevents moose foraging naturally, which can harm long-term survival and disrupt the ecosystem.
For the safety of both and wildlife, it’s essential to keep moose wild by not feeding them.
