UPDATE (May Long Weekend)
As the May long weekend approaches, golf season is teeing off across the Peace Region. Several local courses are now open for play, including Fairview Golf Club, Eaglesham Lakeside Golf and Country Club, Heart River Golf Course, High Prairie and District Golf Club, Smoky River Regional Golf Course in McLennan, and Hines Creek Golf and Country Club.
At Mighty Peace Golf Club, the front nine holes are currently open, with the full 18 expected to open Saturday. Meanwhile, Fox Haven Golf and Country Club is preparing to welcome golfers soon, with nine holes opening Sunday and the full course scheduled to open Wednesday.
Golfers are encouraged to check course conditions and booking availability before heading out for the long weekend.

Golf enthusiasts across the region have reason to celebrate as local courses begin opening for the season.
The Mighty Peace Golf Club has opened its front nine and driving range, while Fairview Golf Club and High Prairie & District Golf Club have both opened their full courses along with driving ranges.
Heart River Golf Course is now open, and the Smoky River Regional Golf Course in McLennan is set to welcome players.
Looking ahead, several other regional courses are preparing to swing into action, including Eaglesham Lakeside Golf and Country Club, Condy Meadows Golf Course & RV Park (Manning), Fox Haven Golf and Country Club (High Level), 5 Star Golf Club (Guy), Hines Creek Golf and Country Club, and La Crete Golf Course.
With so many options opening soon, it’s a perfect time to dust off your clubs and hit the greens.
