  1. Authorities in High Prairie are investigating another possible threat on social media.
    The RCMP says several students have seen the post, and mentions the incident might happen on Friday, but no specific schools have been mentioned.
    In the meantime, a police presence has been set up at all schools in town, while the investigation is underway.
  2. All is quiet right now on the Northwestern Wildfire front after the May long weekend.
    Mop-up work is continuing with holdover fires from 2025, but restrictions and advisories are expected, as the weather dries out and warms up later this week.
  3. The Hot Tub project at the Peace Regional Pool is nearing completion.
    Construction walls are down, and despite smaller barricades in place, staff is preparing for the amenity to be in use.
  4. Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation is looking to Ottawa for funding as the search for human remains near the St. Francis Xavier Residential School.
    The First Nation has been working with the University of Alberta’s Institute of Prairie and Indigenous Archaeology, and says it has identified several areas using ground-penetrating radar close to the site of the residential school with a high potential for buried human remains.

    Over $12,000 was raised in Peace River from food, beverage, socks and merchandise, round-up donations, and in-store heart purchases.
