The High Level Fire Department (HLFD) will be doing Hazard Reduction Burns throughout the town.
This will happen over the next few weeks.
The first burn will take place on Highway 58 East across the railroad tracks near the old Lions Campground. Smoke will be visible throughout the evening.
Officials are asking residents to stay clear of the area, and allow crews to work safely.
The HLFD says they’re doing this to reduce wildfire hazards in and round the area.
Other locations will be posted on the town’s Facebook page as they are planned.
