Fort Vermilion School Division (FVSD) has re-allocated about $100-thousand to enhance programming for students.
16 schools throughout the division will receive priority funding for 18 different projects, which include FNMI Culture & Literacy resources, Native Craft kits, welding equipment, photography & visual media equipment, as well as rock climbing wall. More information regarding each project being funded can be found by speaking to the principal of your local school.
Around the midpoint of each school year, the FVSD does a budget review, and when possible, dollars that haven’t been spent are sent to the schools. The funding is to provide opportunities to improve schools in ways their regular school budget may not allow.
All funds each school gets are required to be spent this fiscal year, and all projects must either be underway or ready for implementation for the upcoming school year.
