Frank & Agnes Lovsin Legacy Fund Established

The Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta has recently announced the creation of a substantial new endowment fund.

According to a press release, the Frank & Agnes Lovsin Legacy Fund will support charitable activities, and build up communities located in the North Peace region.

The fund is set up to provide grants to support community building projects which are managed by volunteers and volunteer-based organizations, which the foundation says will help to enrich the quality of life in and around areas of Peace River, Fairview, Manning and High Prairie.

Mr. and Mrs. Lovsin, in the release, said they wanted to give back to the community which gave them so much. While they lived in Peace River for 54 years, they creation of their fund ensures they’ll continue to give back, support, and build the community forever.

Frank was a founder, past CEO, and is the current Chairperson of the Board at Freson Brothers Markets Limited. The foundation says that establishing a donor-advised fund allows Frank, Agnes and the Lovsin family to be involved in directing the fund’s impact.

The establishment of the Frank & Agnes Lovsin Legacy Fund brings the foundation’s total endowment funds to just over $7-million.

“This tremendous impact of our endowment funds can be seen in the results of our community Impact Grants,” said Foundation CEO Tracy Vavrek. “It also shows the work that we do to creat and maintain a strong, vibrant region for generations to come.”
