The Town of Peace River is imposing a property tax increase for the 2015 tax season. It was part of the capital and operations budget passed by Town Council earlier this week. Mayor Tom Tarpey says the money is needed to help fund construction of the town’s new hockey arena. On average, a resident will be paying about $18.30 extra per month. The AM 610 Newsroom took to the streets to gouge the reaction of Peace River residents, and reaction was mixed. Some support the measure, a few oppose it, while others were found to be more indifferent to the idea.
