New Valleyview CAO excited about growth potential of the town

Ben Berlinguette is all about growth. That is the focus of the new Town of Valleyview Chief Administrative Officer, who was hired by council earlier this month. When the Trending 55 Newsroom asked Berlinguette about how he can best assist the town with its goals, he said it was a tough question, but pointed out that growth is paramount. “Growth means two things in our community,” says Berlinguette. “One is highway growth and the other is residential – subdivision – growth. It is my intent to find the people that can bring in the McDonalds, the Kentucky Friend Chickens, the Go Autos for the main routes and also closer to our multiplex, the idea of having subdivisions around there.”

Berlinguette was born and raised on a farm near St. Paul and has a keen interest in building. He has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. Having held a variety of management positions, he built an expansive scope focusing on oil & gas, power sector, transportation and municipalities as well as projects within environmental (industrial site & gravel pit reclamations, wetlands), procurement (material, equipment), infrastructure (roads, buildings, bridges, parks), asset & project management initiatives and maintenance programs.

Berlinguette ads that it was being in the north that made him want to become Valleyview’s newest CAO. “The clarity of being here is like coming back to a beautiful cup of tea, or a nice hot coffee,” mentions Berlinguette. “I feel at home. I walk the streets, I talk to people and I know I am comfortable here because I already have my co-op number so it is normal for me to be in a community like this.”
