The High Prairie and District Children’s Resource Council will be a part of the province’s new Family Resource Network.

The executive director of the council, Lindsay Davies, says the biggest change for them will be having to cover a larger area with the services they provide.

“We have new communities and new partners which is going to make things a lot better and a lot broader scope in terms of bringing in Slave Lake and Wabasca and we’re looking at more regional service delivery options.”

Davies says they will have some difficulties early on in trying to provide their services.

“So we have applied for some funding resources to be able to loan people technology so that we can connect with them. Right now we’re not able to do groups or home visitations or anything like that, but we have applied for funds to do more online servicing.”

Davies says there’s no timetable for when they will know if they get the funding or not.
