The Alberta Major Crimes Unit is looking into a death that may be suspicious.
According to a release, the Fort Vermilion RCMP learned on Sunday that clothing had been found in a forested area near John D’Or Prairie on the Old Fox Lake Road.
A further search turned up human remains and the major crimes unit has taken over the investigation.
Once the scene is fully examined, the remains will be sent to the Edmonton Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
The identity of the person that lost their life is unknown at this time.
The Mounties and support services remain on the scene and are asking if anyone from the public has any information.
