
On December 10, Alberta Health Services confirmed 1,566 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 75,054.
13 people passed away, which means 666 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.
In the North Zone, there are 4,982 cases of COVID-19 and 52 people have passed away, including one person in the latest update.
There are currently 1,247 active cases in our zone with 36 in the MD of Peace, 28 in Mackenzie County, 24 in Northern Sunrise County, 18 in the MD of Greenview, 14 in Big Lakes County, while all other jurisdictions in our area have one or zero active cases.
AHS is reporting that 54,225 people have recovered from the virus.
This means that there are currently 20,163 active cases across Alberta.
Outbreaks have been declared at the following places:
- Heimstaed Lodge, LaCrete
- Peace River Correctional Facility
To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.
