October 1, 2021 – Harvest is nearing the end in the Peace and Smoky regions for farmers, but SARDA Ag Research is still in the field to hand pick plots for data collection.
Megan Allard, SARDA’s Research Coordinator spoke with us about how harvest is done for plots, yields coming from peas and canola plots in the Donnelly area and hemp trials being grown in northwestern Alberta.
SARDA’s plot sites represent what the best portion of a crop can produce such as yields, because the land is flat, with no sloping for flood or drought issues.
