  1. Fort Vermilion RCMP have all in custody in concerns to a Shelter in place in La Crete yesterday afternoon.
    Police were called to investigate a shooting in Mackenzie County. Details are few at this time, but authorities do say updates are expected later today.
  2. Police in the Northwest were dealing with Missing Person cases yesterday.
    In Fort Vermilion, 26 year-old Cryingwind Didzena was reported missing, but has now been located, and is safe.
    High Prairie RCMP are reporting this morning that Darius Ross was located safe. He was the teenage boy from Kinuso that went missing on Saturday night.
    High Prairie RCMP have located Lynn Vern Pearson safe. The 45 year-old Pearson was reported missing at the beginning of February.
  3. Fairview town council meets tonight… On the agenda, officials decide a loan request from the Golf Club, the housing strategy report, and the Grad Parade.
  4. Northwestern Polytechnic and the University of Alberta have put a memorandum of Understanding in place to complete the Doctor of Medicine program in Grande Prairie.

  5. Alberta’s municipal affairs minister has declined to clarify whether towns and cities would still get their say before changes are made to a bill that gives the province authority to fire local councilors.
    Ric McIver announced the changes last Thursday and promised he would talk to municipal leaders about looming amendments.
  6. The Wheatbelt Baseball League has released a schedule for the 2024 season. The first game is next Wednesday with Grimshaw at Peace River.
  7. The Peace River Panthers Peewee football team is ready to gear up for their next game. The Panthers play the Sexsmith Serpants on Saturday at Glenmary School.
  8. NHL Playoffs tonight… Game 1, Colorado is at Dallas, Game 2 Carolina is at the Rangers, who took the opening game.
  9. The NHL Draft Lottery goes tonight. The San Jose Sharks have the best odds of winning.
  10. The Toronto Blue Jays start a two-game set in Philidelphia tonight. Jose Berrios starts for the Jays against Cristopher Sanchez.
  11. Cloudy skies take over the Northwest this afternoon, with showers falli9ng in the MacKenzie and Big Lakes.
    Temps are varying today between 10 and 15 degrees, with comfortable lows at night.
