  1. The situation is on REPEAT in Fairview, as no Doctor is on site at the Health Complex’s Emergency Department.
    No physician is present all day and night today, as the game of Hide and Seek continues. This issue has been a recurring theme since at least the beginning of the year.
  2. The Northland School Division has introduced a new role, that has been filled. Melanie Lapp has been appointed as the Indigenous Cultural Land-Based Learning Coach.
    The role was introduced, once again in response to community engagement conversations with students, parents, guardians, and community members.
  3. River Days is taking place this weekend in Peace River with events for the whole family to enjoy. (Rylee Labbe Interview on App)
    River Days coensides with the Gold Cup Jet Boat Races, also happening this weekend. Check the Community Calendar for events occurring during the weekend.
  4. Atco Electic in Manning is completing power pole maintenance. Power will be out in the town’s Southwest, along with the east side of Main Street on Sunday morning.
  5. The Gold Cup Jet Boat Races happen this weekend in Peace River.
    Tonight is the Show N Shine at the Block Party. Tomorrow is Curcuit races at 10am and 2pm. Sunday is the Long Leg Races at 9am and 1pm, with a curcuit race at 4pm.

  6. Wheatbelt Baseball League this weekend… Rycroft plays in Manning tonight. Grande Prairie plays in High Prairie tomorrow. High Prairie plays in Manning on Sunday.
  7. The Toronto Blue Jays begin a western road trip tonight, by starting a three-game set in Seattle. Kevin Gausman starts for the Jays against Luis Castillo.
  8. CFL this weekend… Ottawa is in Winnipeg tonight. Calgary is in Montreal tomorrow. BC is in Hamilton on Sunday.
  9. European Soccer Championships in Germany… The Quarter-finals today, Spain plays Germany this morning. Portugal plays France this afternoon.
  10. Sunshine and warm temperatures are expected this weekend, and into next week in the Northwest. Temps will be in the high 20’s and 30+ into next week.
    Air Quality is an issue in the Mackenzie, as smoke from fires in BC and in the Territories hamper the air.
