The Peace River Fire Department has had a busy week, responding to two major structure fires in town.
On Monday, August 5, a fire in Saddleback destroyed one house and a detached garage. Three other houses were also damaged.
On Friday, August 9, a fire in the Terrace Trailer Park destroyed one residence, along with a holiday trailer and vehicles. Two other residential structures were damaged.
Fortunately, all occupants of the structures in both fires have been accounted for, and there were no injuries to firefighting personnel.
The Peace River Fire Department wishes to thank the Weberville Fire Department and Northern Sunrise County Protective Services for their invaluable assistance at the fires.
“The great teamwork with our partners in Weberville and Northern Sunrise County prevented the fires from spreading to other structures,” said Fire Chief Tim Harris.
The Town’s thoughts are with everyone who has lost property and belongings in these events.
Both fires are under investigation and no causes have been determined yet.
