  1. RCMP are continuing to investigate a fatal crash that happened on Highway 2 near Sucker Creek on Saturday.
    Initial investigations reveal that some motorcycles riders were travelling in one large group when an oncoming semi truck crossed over the center-line striking the riders.
    Two people were killed, a man from Driftpile and another person from Edmonton, while several others were injured.
  2. Officials are investigating a place crash that happened near Fort Vermilion on Saturday night.
    RCMP say the plane went down in a field northwest of the community. The pilot and sole occupant of the plane was killed.
  3. Students in the Peace and Mackenzie regions are heading back to class for the new school year today.

  4. School busses and authorities are out in full force today, as students in the Peace and Mackenzie head back to class.

  5. Some local schools are taking part in the piloting of the new draft K-6 social studies curriculum.

  6. The Alberta government says it’s moving ahead with legislation requiring parents to sign up to have their children opt-in, rather than opting out, for sex education.

    Barring new signings this off-season, Draisaitl will be the highest paid player in the League in 2026, until Connor McDavid signs a new contract.
  11. Chance of showers with a risk of a storm this afternoon is in the forecast for the Northwest.
    Highs this afternoon are only in the mid to high teens today, but it will warm up in the days ahead this week. Skies will clear off tonight, with lows in the single-digits.
