
Four people from John D’or Prairie have been arrested and another remains at large from a kidnapping case.
RCMP officers had stopped a suspicious vehicle in John D’or Prairie last week, that’s when the driver drove into a pair of cop cars and attempted to get away.
The vehicle then ended up in a field south of the community when the five suspects fled on foot.
The kidnapping victim was still in the vehicle and was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police were able to find four of the suspects and take them into custody, they’ll appear in court later this week.
Marty D’or (29), Jaydon Ribbonleg (21), Kassidy Sewepagaham (24) and Layton Tallcree (21), all residents John D’or Prairie, have been charged with the following offences:
– Kidnapping
– Forcible confinement
– Assault causing bodily harm
– Flight from Police Officer
– Failure to stop after accident
– Dangerous Operation of a motor vehicle
– Using a firearm in the commission of an offence
– Careless use of a firearm
– Pointing a firearm
– Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose x2
– Unauthorized possession of a firearm
– Possession knowing it is unauthorized
– Unauthorized possession of firearm in motor vehicle
– Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
– Assault police officer with a weapon
A warrant for the arrest of the fifth suspect is being sought.
