Colin Moore recognized for five years of service
The Town of High Level would like to congratulate Captain Colin Moore of the High Level Fire Department and thank him for five years of service with the community.
Colin signed on in August 2019 as a full-time Wildland Urban Interface member. Prior to that, he was in the community for two months assisting with the Chuckegg Creek Wildfire as part of another fire department.
Colin was promoted to Captain and took charge of the Town’s WUI program in 2021, and the program has excelled under his leadership. Colin has also proven himself an invaluable asset for provincial firefighting efforts and has been deployed to more than 20 communities to lend his assistance and leadership skills.
Colin has co-developed a leadership curriculum for Alberta’s provincial wildfire response program and is a key component to High Level’s own forest management and FireSmart
programs.
More recently, Colin has taken responsibility for coordinating the HLFD Training Program, shaping the hearts and minds of new recruits while enhancing the skills of current
firefighters.
In 2023, Colin was awarded both the Alberta Emergency Service Medal and the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal, a testament to his exceptional dedication and service.
Thank you for five years of service, Colin!
