Fine Arts Centre Renovation Proposal: Members of the Fine Arts Society presented a $239,389 renovation proposal for the Fine Arts Centre, including plans for an elevator and a basement bathroom. The group has set a $300,000 fundraising goal and requested $50,000 from the Town. Council is considering other options, including potential relocation.
Fairview Aquatic Centre Energy Audit: The energy audit is complete, paving the way to apply for the Community Energy Conservation Program to replace the HVAC unit.
North Peace Regional Landfill Budget: The 2025 budget has been completed, with the Town’s requisition expected to remain similar to last year.
2025 Interim Budgets Approved:
Operating Budget
• Operating budget anticipates revenues of $8,425,902 and expenditures of$7,624,526
• $651,376 has been allocated transfers to reserves for future capital projects and $150,000 for current projects.
• The 2025 interim operating budget anticipates a zero increase in the Tax Rate, maintaining the Tax Rate freeze since 2013.
Capital Budget
o The interim Capital budget has an expense budget of $3,266,000
o Funding sources: $1,245,500 from reserves, $1,466,610 from Provincial transfers, $213,000 from shared municipal projects, and $150,000 from other grants.
Future Operating and Capital Plans Approved
• 3-Year Operating Plan (2026-2028) which anticipates no tax rate increase and a 2% annual utility rate increase.
• 5-Year Capital Plan (2026-2030) are available on the Town website
