The Town of Valleyview is thrilled to announce that Mr. Jim Fedyk will be stepping into the role of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) on May 19, 2025. This marks an exciting chapter for our town, and we couldn’t be more excited to have Jim on board!
After an extensive search that attracted top talent from across Alberta and Western Canada, Jim emerged as the perfect fit for this key leadership role. His passion, experience, and vision for municipal growth make him a fantastic addition to our team.
Jim brings with him a wealth of experience, having spent the last 15 years in senior leadership roles in both small and mid-sized municipalities across Alberta and Saskatchewan. His career began in recreation, managing and coaching team sports, and his journey has only grown from there. With a strong background in municipal leadership, Jim has the expertise and hands-on experience needed to guide our town forward.
He holds an impressive range of credentials, including a Business Administration Diploma, a Bachelor of Physical Education, the National Advanced Certificate in Local Authority Administration (NACLAA, Level I and II), and his Certified Local Government Manager (CLGM) designation. His expertise is matched by his dedication to community growth and collaboration.
In his most recent role as Assistant CAO and Director of Community Services with Flagstaff County, Jim worked closely with elected officials and senior leadership to oversee a wide range of services, from Community Services and Planning & Development to Economic Development and Protective Services. His well-rounded background makes him a great fit for Valleyview’s dynamic needs.
With Jim’s leadership, we’re confident that Valleyview will continue to thrive and grow in exciting new ways. The strong administrative team already in place, combined with Jim’s experience and fresh perspective, will only enhance our town’s momentum.
We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mr. Pat Brothers for his outstanding leadership as Acting CAO during this transition period. Pat’s dedication to Valleyview has been a true asset, and we wish him all the best as he begins his well-deserved retirement.
