  1. Peace Regional RCMP have a person in custody on failing to comply with orders.
    Last weekend, 21 year-old Keenan Gladue of Peace River was arrested, after being at a business that he could not be at.
  2. Police in Peace River are searching for suspects attempting to steal a vehicle on 99th Street.
    Earlier this month, two men approached a vehicle in a driveway, broke a window, but were unsuccessful in turning it over.
  3. Peace Regional RCMP are looking for another suspect, this time in a “stealing from parked vehicles” case.
    Late in July, the suspect was going through vehicles in a parking lot downtown.
  4. Many fire departments in Northern Alberta attended the Northern HEAT Conference and Fire Training in Peace River last week. (Jason Cottingham interview in separate story)
  5. The town of Valleyview is bringing in a cost recovery model for water, sewer, waste, and recycling services.
    A phased Infrastructure Replacement Fee will also be introduced to support long-term maintenance of water, sewer, and drainage systems.
  6. An Open House is scheduled for this afternoon from 4-8 at the Falher Recreation Complex.
    The Open House is taking place is due to the notice given from the MD of Smoky River of potential withdrawal from regional service agreements due to budget strain from unpaid oil and gas taxes.
  7. NWJHL tonight… Sexsmith is in Fairview.
  8. The Toronto Blue continue to march towards the playoffs. The Jays continue their series in Tampa Bay, with Kevin Gausman starting for the Jays.
    Magic numbers to clinch: 3 for the playoffs, 6 for the Division, 7 for the #1 seed in the American League.
  9. Sunny and warm today in the Northwest. Highs this afternoon are in the mid to upper 20’s, with lows tonight around 10 degrees. Digits head downward a little tomorrow.
