On February 26, 2026, Fairview RCMP officers arrived at a residence to execute an arrest warrant.
While on scene, they observed a vehicle in the driveway with its engine running.
Inside, they found 42-year-old Drew James Clegg of Bluesky, Alberta, a known prolific offender, asleep at the wheel with drug paraphernalia present.
Clegg was arrested, and a search of the vehicle uncovered multiple stolen license plates, which were seized along with the paraphernalia.
Subsequently, the arrest warrant was successfully executed at the residence, leading to the apprehension of 40-year-old Bonnie Casselton of Fairview, Alberta, on outstanding charges including break and enter, possession of break-in tools, mischief, possession of a controlled substance, and failure to comply with a release order.
Both individuals were brought before a justice of the peace and released on conditions, with court appearances scheduled in Fairview later this month.
Sgt. David Illi, Detachment Commander of the Fairview RCMP, commented, “This is a great example of how a call for service can change unexpectedly. Our officers are always on alert for all types of criminality… We will keep working diligently in order to keep our communities safe.”
