  1. Questions have been raised by residents in Fairview regarding the progress of the new St. Thomas More School.
    The Holy Family Catholic Regional Division is noting that proceedings are going ahead in the four-phase project.
  2. The Provincial Government is investing into 16 new schools in rural and remote Alberta, pending the passing of the Budget.
    In this region, replacement of the current school on the Paddle Prairie Metis Settlement is now in the Planning stage.
  3. Some new legislation has been brought forward by the provincial government on having more transparency around tourism fees. (Andrew Boitchenko interview in separate story)
  4. The Alberta Pond Hockey Championships are set to go, starting today at the Mile Zero Multiplex in Grimshaw. The opening ceremonies are at 5:30 this evening.
  5. The time change happens this weekend but the debate of permanent time has risen again in Alberta.
    For now, the clocks on your phone will be moving ahead by one hour during the night on Saturday.
  6. NWJHL this weekend… The final starts with FSJ in La Crete. Game 1 is tomorrow, Game 2 is Sunday.
  7. NPHL this weekend… Game 6 tomorrow, Dawson Creek is in Spirit River, the Rangers lead 3-2.
  8. AEHL this weekend…
    The U-13’s play their first round elimination series today through Sunday in Grande Prairie.
    The U-15’s are finished for the season.
    The U-18’s play their first round elimination series today through Sunday at the Baytex Energy Center in Peace River.
  9. NJHL this weekend… The finals start with Edson playing Crowsnest Pass, who eliminated the High Prairie Red Wings last weekend in three games.
  10. AJHL this weekend… The Grande Prairie Storm play tonight in Whitecourt.
  11. Clouds will increase this afternoon in the Peace and Big Lakes, with snow, rain, freezing rain and increased wind speeds being a possibility.
    The Mackenzie will be dealing with snowfall throughout the weekend. Lows tonight are mild in the South, but a little chilly in the North.
    Skies will start clearing out, come the beginning of next week.
