After a one year absence, the AJHL is bringing back the North and South divisions.
The league announced the restructuring yesterday.
The Grande Prairie Storm will be in the North Division along with Whitecourt, Fort McMurray, Bonnyville, Lloydminster and the league’s new expansion team the Devon Xtreme.
Meanwhile the South Division will have Drayton Valley, Camrose, Olds, Drumheller, Calgary and Canmore.
Last season saw the AJHL eliminate the two divisions and go with a more balanced schedule.
It was supposed to be 62 games, but after the departures of Brooks, Okotoks, Blackfalds, Sherwood Park and Spruce Grove to the BCHL, subsequent schedule changes lead to teams playing 57 games.
No word yet on what the schedule for this season will look like.
