A significant funding announcement has been made by the Alberta Pulse Growers.
The Commission has put forward $3 Million over the next five years for research projects to reduce the risk of Root Rot.
This is on top of the $3.7 million put in over the last 10 years, for the same project.
The research is aimed at tackling the issue, that has plagues the farmers of Peas and Lentils.
Officials are saying the research is making the disease more known, but it still poses a threat to the sector.
Shane Strydhorst is the Chair of the Alberta Pulse Growers Commission.
