Statistics Canada has released its most recent average weekly earnings report. ATB Financial says it shows Albertans both earn the most money, but also spend the most. The Survey of Household Spending 2013 shows household spending on all goods and services in Alberta totalled $71,430, about 22 percent higher than the national average of $58,600 and well above BC, the second-highest spenders. When broken down in categories, Albertans topped the country on spending on clothing and accessories. We also spent more than the average on transportation, but less than the average on food and shelter.
