In the latest High Level Town Council meeting changes were approved in the licensed afterschool program to include bussing and morning coverage for a portion of the available openings.

The new rate will become $175 compared the previous $120 per month for the afterschool program. It will be $250 for the before and after school program. These changes will start as of April 1, 2022.

The feedback Council received from the parents who currently have children in the program showed they would like a choice of two streams of afterschool care. One stream would be for strictly afterschool, but still include the bussing and the other would the full before and afterschool care including bussing.

The Town Administration for Family and Community Support Services has been working with licensed advisories and the Fort Vermillion School Division to develop bussing, which would further develop the current after school program into a before and after school program.

Already participating families will get first access to the new program and remaining vacancies will become available to the remainder of the community.

If by September 30 spots have not been filled, FCSS will consider kindergarten children to be bussed  the after schoolchildren.
