On December 1, Alberta Health Services confirmed 1,307 new cases of COVID-19 over the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of cases in the province to 59,484.

10 people passed away, which means 551 Albertans have now died from COVID-19.

In the North Zone, there are 3,906 cases of COVID-19 and 46 people have passed away.

There are currently 895 active cases in our zone with 39 in the MD of Peace, 29 in the MD of Greenview, 11 in Big Lakes County, seven in Northern Sunrise County, six in Mackenzie County, while all other jurisdictions in our area have four active cases or less.

AHS is reporting that 42,305 people have recovered from the virus.

This means that there are currently 16,628 active cases across Alberta.

Outbreaks have been declared at the following places:

  • Fairview Health Complex
  • Peace River Correctional Facility

To help slow spread or ease fear of catching COVID-19, the government recommends washing your hands for at least 20 seconds, and to avoid touching the face.

It is also recommended you wear a mask if social distancing is not possible.
