The Conseil scolaire du Nord-Ouest (CSNO) is thrilled to unveil its new logo and visual identity, marking a significant milestone as it celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2024. With a renewed focus on growth, innovation, and student success, CSNO aims to reflect its ongoing evolution and unwavering commitment to its students, staff, and school communities.
The CSNO’s new logo embodies simplicity and modernity, capturing the essence of its vision: “Competent, fulfilled, and engaged students in their Francophone identity.” Sylvianne Maisonneuve, CSNO President, highlights the importance of this design: “Our new logo symbolizes our vision to optimize the holistic development of students while cultivating their sense of belonging and Francophone identity. Furthermore, as a pillar for its school community, this logo reflects the CSNO’s commitment to providing a welcoming and stimulating school environment, as well as quality Francophone education that supports each student in their unique journey.”
The CSNO is proud to launch its new logo in the context of the recent publication of the new 2024-2028 Education Plan, as well as the CSNO’s 2024-2028 Strategic Framework.
The new logo will be gradually deployed across all communication platforms, such as websites, social media, official documents, and promotional materials.
Symbolism and Core Values
The elements of the logo collectively symbolize the potential of each student towards a fulfilling and confident life. The connected letters represent collaboration and belonging within the Francophone community. The tree and leaves symbolize growth, knowledge, and the flourishing potential of each student. The pencil signifies creativity, engagement, and the pursuit of learning.
The carefully chosen vibrant colours in the logo reflect continuity, vitality and diversity. Yellow and orange, symbols of youth and energy, remind us of CSNO’s influence on its students. Blue, the colour of excellence and confidence, implies the infinite possibilities offered to students. Purple suggests harmony, caring, and faith, while green embodies growth and hope.
The creation process for the new logo was conducted during the 2023-2024 school year in collaboration with CSNO’s communications department, an advisory committee, and Creative Coconuts.
