Various reputable gaming sources are saying that Daft Punk is going to be the next major artist collaboration to be announced for Fortnite, which I am quite excited for. Not only have I been in a bit of a Fortnite phase as of late with the OG Seasons returning, but I am a massive Daft Punk fan as well. Sebrina Carpenter is currently taking the main stage with their Guitar Hero-esque Fortnite Festival gamemode, the French DJ’s will hopefully be the main artist in the near future. But, as a fan of both the game and the artist, what am I expecting?
Well, the obvious is a bunch of new songs on the Fortnite Festival game mode. Specifically, I’m expecting most of their bigger songs, with hits like “Get Lucky”, “Around the World”, “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”, and “One More Time”. But I’d be lying if I said that I expect any of their smaller hits to be added to the game, much to my sadness.
I’m also hoping to see some skins that can be used in the Battle Royale game modes. I would like to see the robot’s standard attire: the all black outfit with the gold and silver helmets for Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter respectively. I would also love to see a version with their all white Grammys attire, when they won Album of the Year in 2014 for Random Access Memories.
In terms of emotes or pickaxes, I’ll kind of take what I can get. I would love to see an emote of the character DJ-ing, but in terms of a pickaxe, I really don’t know the route that they could go down. Maybe putting a turntable on the end of a pole and calling it a day would work.
Regardless, I am very excited for this collaboration, and will likely be buying whatever bundle they end up putting out, much to the sadness of my wallet.
