The film sees Deadpool being offered a place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by the Time Variance Authority, but instead recruits a variant of Wolverine to save his universe from extinction.
The movie brings back various characters from past Deadpool films while also having some cameos from past Marvel films, don’t worry I won’t spoil anything. The movie brings all the laughter and jokes you would expect from Deadpool and the even pays homage to past Wolverine variants from classic incarnations of the character from the comics in a montage, including a MAJOR cameo and shot at the DCEU. The movie plays to it’s strengths and is a classic Deadpool film well minus the ability to “build a snowman” as it were. The film also features a great mid-credit montage and clips from past X-Men and Deadpool films.
It is hard for me to find fault in the movie as it is as advertised and lived up tot he hype of the Reynolds and Jackman collaboration. Going in with a high bar and yet managed to clear it, much like Top Gun Maverick and John Wick 4.
Oh and you will want to stay for the post credit scene at the very end of the credits for a HILARIOUS scene that ties back to earlier in the film.
Final Grade 9.5/10
