The Salvation Army Food Bank in Peace River says they’ve seen a drastic decline in donations recently, yet the demand remains very high due to the pandemic situation.

Some non-perishables that are currently needed include rice, juice, boxed or canned soups, tomato paste, boxed pasta, baking goods, and peanut butter.

Margaret Davie from the food bank says monetary donations are highly encouraged as they allow staff to get the exact items in need.

Davie adds in a statement to the Trending 55 Newsroom that people who want to make donation are asked to call ahead first to help with social distancing and keeping staff and donors safe.

If you want to make a donation to the food bank, call them at 780-624-2370.
