With the provincial election underway, we’re going to be taking a look at the candidates in the ridings in our region.

Running for the NDP in Lesser Slave Lake is Danielle Larivee, who previously served as an MLA between 2015 and 2019.

“I’m a registered nurse and I’m very concerned about what’s happened in health care for the last four years that’s brought us to such a critical state, but also I’m incredibly worried about what Danielle Smith has been very clear about on many occasions that she doesn’t believe health care should be free.”

Larivee says most of the concerns she’s heard from residents are around health care and affordability.

“People are barely making it paycheck to paycheck and they’re looking to hear from a government that they will do everything they can to make life more affordable for them instead of making it more expensive in many ways for people the way that’s happened with the UCP government for the last four years.”
