The grand opening of the Baytex Energy Centre in Peace River is just a couple of days away.
Zoe Battie, the Town of Peace River’s Recreation Programmer, says there will be lots of new features at the facility for people to check out.
“There’s gonna be some tours of the whole facility, some doors will be unlocked for people to wander around and check out things like our fieldhouse, arena, indoor playground, multipurpose room, meeting room, the Navs dressing room, all the stuff that maybe people don’t normally get to come and see.”
Battie adds that there will be some dignitaries on hand for the opening as well.
“During the ribbon cutting ceremony, we’ll have our mayor and all of town council there as well as some of the mayors of the surrounding counties will participate in the opening as well as a Baytex delegate and some of our other naming rights delegates as well.”
The ribbon cutting on Saturday will take place at 1 PM.
Access to the centre’s facilities will be free during the event.
