Some parts of Big Lakes County are under an evacuation alert because of ice jams and overland flooding from the West Prairie and East Prairie Rivers.
There’s three areas that are affected by this
– Residences north of High Prairie and west of the West Prairie along Township Roads 753 and 753A and Range Roads 170A and 171A
– Residences north of High Prairie and between the West Prairie and Highway 749 along Township Roads 750 and 752 and Range Road 171
– Residence west of Enilda along the East Prairie on Township Roads 740 to 745 and Range Roads 161 and 162
In a statement to the Trending 55 Newsroom, the County says residents in those areas are told to be prepared to evacuate those areas if officials deem is to be necessary.
They also says that residents in those areas will given as much advance notice as possible prior to an evacuation, but they may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.
