Exploring the Region – Editorial (July 8, 2020)

With the state of the local economy being what it is right now, a lot of people are just struggling, just to make ends meet.

However, we all can do what we need to, within reason.

I not saying you need to spend a whole paycheck in one shot, but even a little bit here and there, helps.

Take this past week as an example…

My wife Chantelle came up for a few days, as part of our wedding anniversary, and we had some fun, just exploring the region and visiting local restaurants.

It started with a meal at the Heilan Beer House in Fairview, and the experience was very enjoyable.

The food was great, the atmosphere was fantastic, and we found out that even a small trip down the road is worth it.

Next time we’re in Fairview, The Butter Chicken Co. and Steak House is on the menu. I’m sure it will be worth it as well.

Over the weekend, we took a trip up to Manning to see what was going on there.

While we were there, we stopped at the Humble Pie Cafe to partake in their cuisine.

Just like in Fairview, it’s a simple, yet very effective set-up… The food was great, the atmosphere was fantastic, and again, we found out that even a small trip down the road is worth it.

Last, but not least, Chantelle and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary by having dinner at the Board N Barrel restaurant in Peace River.

It was a nice evening, so we had dinner on the patio, and again the experience was very pleasant, and delicious!

My point is this… Experiencing the flavor of the town, the region, or the province is quite simple, because the pleasant atmosphere is as far away, as our own backyard.

And the fun part is that you don’t have to “Break the Bank” to enjoy what is being offered.
