This is the River Country Ag. Show, I’m Keith Hopper.
The summer months comes the warm weather, the relaxation and the summer holidays.
The Agriculture sector however, presses on as farmers and ranchers continue to earn their living.
One thing they are watching for in the hot sun, is whether their farm animals are suffering.
De-hydration, sun-stroke, and other health concerns may arise for livestock, and poultry, as they endure the summer weather.
The Alberta Farm Animal Care organization is hoping that farmers and ranchers take care of themselves and their animals during the days when the temperatures go up.
Sarah Linde is the Extension Coordinator of the Alberta Farm Animal Care Organization, based in Calgary.
