
Farm Credit Canada (FCC) is distributing $1.5 million to 82 community groups across the country to support capital projects through the FCC AgriSpirit Fund.
This fund has supported nearly 1,700 projects over the past 20 years, with investments over $225 million.
One recipient, the Guy Donnelly Sportex Society, received $25,000 to install a chiller in their arena for the ice plant.
Jack Affleck, FCC’s senior vice-president of ag production for Western operations, stated that the fund invests in projects that enhance quality of life and foster growth in rural communities.
Grants ranging from $10,000 to $25,000 are awarded to charities, non-profits, municipalities, and First Nations communities with populations under 150,000.
