In a groundbreaking move for northern Alberta, five colleges and polytechnics—Keyano College, Lakeland College, Northern Lakes College, Northwestern Polytechnic, and Portage College—have signed a historic agreement to enhance educational pathways for students.
Announced on March 14, this collaboration focuses on improving student access, mobility, and outcomes through shared program development.
Glenn Mitchell, president of Northern Lakes College, emphasized that the agreement will facilitate formalized transfer agreements and credential recognition, eliminating the need for students to repeat courses when transferring.
Vanessa Sheane, president of Northwestern Polytechnic, highlighted that this partnership will boost regional competitiveness and address workforce challenges.
