Fort Vermilion Man Arrested In Southern Alberta

A 33 year old man from Fort Vermilion is facing charges in Southern Alberta related to stealing hay bales.

Officers from the Piikani Nation located the stolen bales at a residence near Brocket on Monday afternoon.

They were originally taken from the Pincher Creek area.

Police got a search warrant and arrested the man, and they also seized a number of drugs and firearms as well.

Jessie Flett is facing the following charges.

– Possession of property obtained by crime, over $5000
– Possession of property obtained by crime, less then $5000
– Mischief over $5000
– Possession of a weapon obtained by crime (X 2)
– Possession of methamphetamine
– Alter/Destroy/Remove a vehicle identification number (VIN)
– Careless use of a firearm (X11)
– Unauthorized possession of a weapon (X14)
– Fail to comply with Recognizance (X2)

Flett will make a court appearance in Lethbridge today.
