The St. Theresa General Hospital in Fort Vermillion will be without physician coverage overnight in the emergency department for 12 hour periods starting at 8 p.m. between December 14 and December 20.
Regular doctor coverage in the ED will resume on Monday December 20 at 8 a.m.
Nursing staff will still be onsite during the time in the ED, providing assessments and triage and referring patients to the Northwest Health Centre in High Level 81 kilometres away.
All EMS calls will be rerouted to the Northwest Health Centre during the 12 hour periods with no doctor in the ED as well.
