Grande Prairie Regional College will have a new leadership starting in December. The college announced that Dr. Robert Murray will be the new President and C.E.O.  “I’m tremendously excited to take on this opportunity at this time in G.P.R.C’s history. The College is already well known as a northern centre of excellence in Alberta’s post-secondary education system, and we will continue to build on that success as we work towards becoming a degree granting institution,” said Murray. “I look forward to collaborating with G.P.R.C. staff and community stakeholders to enhance the College’s position as a driver of knowledge, innovation and economic development in our region.” Murray is currently the managing director of the government practice group at Dentons Canada L.L.P. and takes over for outgoing President Don Gnatiuk. Murray’s first day will be on December 2nd.

Recently, the college expanded its stewardship region, moved into the realms of scholarship and research, expanded into trades and apprenticeships with the addition of the Fairview Campus and started on the pathway to degree granting.
