Grande Prairie RCMP suspicious vehicle investigation leads to arrest of two individuals for firearm and Break and Enter offences

Grande Prairie, Alta.- Grande Prairie RCMP have recovered stolen property, seized weapons and laid charges following an investigation into a suspicious vehicle.

On Oct. 3, 2022, around 3:00 a.m., Grande Prairie General Duty officers were patrolling a parking lot in the area of 109 Street and 107 Avenue and observed a suspicious parked vehicle. An investigation was conducted and as a result, the vehicle was seized by RCMP.Subsequent to the investigation, Grande Prairie General Duty officers executed a search warrant on the vehicle. As a result, multiple tools, a safe containing documents and firearms were located in the vehicle which had previously been reported stolen to Beaverlodge RCMP and Grande Prairie Rural RCMP. Also seized from the vehicle was the following:

·         4 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine

·         Drug Paraphernalia

·         Pepper spray

·         Brass Knuckles

·         Ammunition

Julia King (25) a resident of Grande Prairie and Delmer Horseman (44) a resident of Hythe have been charged with the following:

·         Possession of weapon obtained by crime X2

·         Possession of firearm in motor vehicle

·         Careless us of a firearm X2

·         Possession of Methamphetamine

·         Possession of property obtained by crime less than $5000

·         Unauthorized possession of firearm/prohibited weapon when knowing possession unauthorized X2

Horseman has additionally been charged with:

·         Unauthorized possession of a firearm/prohibited weapon or restricted weapon

·         Possession of firearm in motor vehicle

King is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Nov. 2, 2022, and Horseman is scheduled to appear in Grande Prairie Provincial Court on Nov. 7, 2022.
