On Friday November 2nd, the Navs took home ice to play the Grande Prairie JDA Kings. It was a good effort from the Navs, but the Kings took home the win 4-2.
In the first period, the Kings #19 Corbin Doram took the lead with the first goal which was countered only a few minutes later by Navs captain Calvin Sanders to end the first period tied at 1. Sanders’ shot was assisted by Chase Henrickson.
In the 2nd period, once again the Kings scored first and Sanders countered again with a second goal to end the period tied at 2. Henrickson was there for another assist.
The Navs had an uneventful period in the third period with the Kings scoring 8 minutes in. The Navs couldn’t equalize and the Kings finished it off with an empty net goal.
The Navs will play in the NWJHL showcase next weekend at the Crosslink County Sportsplex in Grande Prairie. They play the Sexsmith Vipers at 4 pm on Saturday November 10th and face the Kings on Sunday, November 11th at 4 pm.
