The Town of Grimshaw plans on giving the NAR Caboose a makeover this summer.
The Caboose, located next to the Mile Zero Monument, will receive repairs and a paint job.
Right now all interested contractors are being asked to contact community services with their bid.
For those worried that the Caboose’s originality may be altered, the town has stated that it’ll be painted with the same colours. The project is expected to be completed by the middle of September.
Incorporated in 1929, The Northern Alberta Railway carried things like fuel, food, supplies, vehicles, and people into the North, and returned South with resources like oil, coal, lumber, grain, fish, cattle, and more.
The Caboose that is placed in Grimshaw, is an original, built in 1928.
