Grimshaw, Alta. – On Aug. 25, at approximately 2:40 a.m., while on patrol in the town of Grimshaw, Peace Regional RCMP detachment members encountered a motorcycle that sped across their police vehicle’s path near highway 2 and 50 avenue.  As a traffic stop was attempted, the motorcycle accelerated to a high rate of speed, but stalled a short distance away.  As police officers exited their police vehicle and approached the driver, he threw the motorcycle and his helmet at them and fled on foot.  The suspect ran into the yard of a nearby residence and attempted to conceal himself under a deck, but was ultimately apprehended safely and without further incident.
