Grimshaw’s Mayor says 2019 brought a fair share of challenges for the town. Bob Regal says this year had plenty of challenges but feels the town handled them well. “We seem to have come though it fairly well,” says Regal. “Our new administration building will be open right before Christmas and I think that will put everybody into a positive frame of mind.” The town’s new location is expected to open on Monday.

Regal adds the issues facing Grimshaw are no different than those that affected other towns and municipalities in the Peace Region. “The downturn in the economy affects us,” states Regal. “We are obviously driven by the oil, agriculture and forestry industries. With so many crops still out in the fields, it has a negative effect on communities.”
